The Delhi-NCR region has witnessed the immense benefits of the Delhi metro network, revolutionizing commuting by offering affordability, convenience, and significant time and cost savings. Enhancing travel comfort and convenience further, the Silver Line Metro has been recently introduced as an integral part of the expanding Delhi Metro network.
As one of the crucial corridors prioritized in Phase 4 of the metro expansion project, it aims to streamline transportation and elevate the overall commuting experience. The Silver Line metro route connects Aerocity with Tughlakabad.
According to the DMRC, the Aerocity Metro station along the Silver Line Metro corridor will boast the longest platform among all Phase 4 stations, spanning 289 meters. In the future, the Aerocity station will hold strategic significance as it will offer seamless connectivity between the Silver Line Metro, the Airport Express Line, and the Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar RRTS Corridor, establishing it as a pivotal transportation hub. Situated 23 meters below ground level, the station will offer seamless connectivity to Faridabad, South Delhi, West Delhi, and the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The construction of the Aerocity Station underscores Delhi Metro's commitment to improving commuting experiences in the city.

The Silver Line Metro forms a crucial part of Phase IV in the ongoing development of the Delhi metro system and will seamlessly connect Aerocity with Tughlakabad. The silver line metro route will be covering a route spanning 23.622 km and comprising 15 stations. Four will be elevated among these stations, while the remaining 11 will be underground.
Construction work on the Silver Line Metro has already commenced, with the anticipated operational launch slated for September 2025. As the 10th metro line within the expansive Delhi Metro Network, its primary objectives are alleviating traffic congestion and significantly reducing commuter travel time. It is projected to accommodate a daily footfall of approximately 1.2 lakh passengers.
As per the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) silver line route map, the silver line metro will have intersections with four other metro lines, namely the Violet Line, Yellow Line, Airport Express Line, and Brown Line (under construction).

The silver line metro route will have interchange stations at Aerocity, Chattarpur, Saket, and Tughlakabad.
As the Silver Line of the Delhi Metro is under construction, the timings and frequency of the Silver Line train have not been disclosed.
Currently, the Silver Line metro is under construction; therefore, DMRC has not yet released the exact fare rate for the silver line Delhi metro. However, you can refer to the table below to learn about the DMRC's standard metro rate.

As the Tughlaqabad station will be an interchange metro station at level 4, there will be facilities such as stairs, lifts, and elevators to improve accessibility. Moreover, a 100-meter Subway will be constructed to connect the existing station at Tughlaqabad with the new interchange station.
As a part of the silver line metro, DMRC plans to enhance access to IGI Airport by constructing a pedestrian subway connecting the Aerocity metro station to the Mahipalpur neighborhood. Spanning approximately 270 meters, the subway will run beneath the Mahipalpur flyover on NH 48. Additionally, the station has the potential to be converted into a triple interchange, offering access to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).
Aerocity metro station, which facilitates connections between the Airport Express line, Regional Rapid Transit System station, and the upcoming Silver line metro (Tughlakabad to Aerocity), is poised to become a significant interchange station. This development will enable smooth connectivity between various communities and the IGI airport. Notably, the concourse level of the Aerocity metro station will serve as the integration point for the forthcoming Silver line metro.
As a metro station with the longest platform on the silver line metro route, the Aerocity Metro Station will have three entry/exit points to ensure convenient access, providing connectivity to the Aerocity business hub, NH-8, and Mahipalpur.

The Aerocity-Tughlakabad silver line metro will be a significant addition to Delhi's Metro's existing network of 390.14 Km. This new metro line will turn out to be a game changer for the people of Delhi. It will enable people in South Delhi, Faridabad, and Noida to easily reach the International Indira Gandhi Airport in much less time. It will serve as a lifeline for commuters in the Delhi-NCR region, offering them a reliable and efficient mode of transportation.
