There has always been an ever-increasing need for the metro, especially with the rapidly growing population in cities like Hyderabad. This led to the launch of the Hyderabad Metro under the city-wide Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS).

The Green Line of the Hyderabad Metro Rail has been fully operational since 2019. The green line was planned in two phases: a 9.66 km route from JBS to MGBS and a 5.36 km route from MGBS to Falaknuma. - The maximum Hyderabad metro fare for the Red and Blue Lines is Rs 60, and for the Green Line, it is Rs 35.
- The cost to travel on the Red Line from Miyapur to JNTU College, ES Hospital Metro Station, and L.B. Nagar is Rs 15, Rs 40, and Rs 60, respectively.
