“Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana is not merely about brick and mortar. It is about a better quality of life and dreams coming true,” Narendra Modi, Prime Minister.
The ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ scheme launched by the Narendra Modi government aims to provide housing for all by 2022. In order to achieve PM Modi's vision and target of 'Housing for all by 2022', efforts are being made to make people aware of the benefits of this scheme. There are four elements under which the benefits are provided to the beneficiaries:
In-Situ Rehabilitation: This is applicable for individuals who dwell in slums and do not have a pucca house for their family.
Beneficiary-led construction: This is applicable for individuals who have their own land and need funds to construct/enhance their present home.
Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme: This is applicable for individuals who can afford to purchase land/home or modify their present home. They can get the benefit under the credit linked subsidy scheme.
Affordable Housing in Partnership: This is applicable for individuals who neither have any land to construct a house nor can they afford a home loan.
