Patna, the capital city of Bihar, is the 5th fastest-growing city in India, and the Patna metro is all set to accelerate the pace of its economic growth and development. Phase 1 of the Patna metro project is in progress, and in this blog, we will throw some light on phase 1 of the metro project.
Patna Metro is the first metro project in the state of Bihar. The foundation stone of the Patna metro project was laid by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17 February 2019. The Patna Metro project is under-construction and is expected to be completed by 2025. It is constructed under a Public Private Partnership model at an estimated cost of ₹13,365.77 crore.
The Patna Metro project is owned and operated by state-run Patna Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is responsible for the Patna metro construction work. The Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) is partly financing this project.
The first phase of the Patna Metro project consists of two lines or corridors, namely the East-West Line, or Corridor 1, and the North-South Line or Corridor 2.

Patna Metro Rail Corporation has adopted an advanced communication-based train control (CBTC) system, a state-of-the-art signaling system, for its stations and depots.
Patna Metro Rail Corporation has planned two interchange stations to make the commute easy and comfortable. One interchange station is Patna Junction, which will be underground. Khemni Chak is another interchange station that will be an elevated station. Both of these interchange stations will be connected to bus and railway terminals.
Akashvani metro station on corridor 2 of the Patna metro project will have a Subway facility.
The first phase of the Patna metro, which consists of Corridor 1 and Corridor 2, will be 32.50 km long with 26 stations. As per the Patna Metro Map, 16.86 km long corridor 1 will run between Danapur and Khemnichak stations.
Corridor 2 of the Patna metro route runs from Patna Junction to New ISBT. This north-south line, or Line 2, will be 14 km long. Keep reading to know the stations on the east-west and north-south lines.

Phase 1 of the Patna metro, an urban Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS), is currently under construction and is expected to be open to the public by 2025. The Patna metro map of Phase 1 is shared below.
Corridor 1 of the Patna Metro Phase 1 will start from Danapur Cantonment and end at Khemni Chak.

The underground route on the east-west line of the Patna metro project will be 7.5 km long.

Currently, there is no official announcement on ticket types, fare structure, or timings for the Patna metro route.
