Hyderabad Metro Map: Overview

There has always been an ever-increasing need for the metro, especially with the rapidly growing population in cities like Hyderabad. This led to the launch of the Hyderabad Metro under the city-wide Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS).

Even though the Hyderabad metro work was completed in 2015, the very first phase of the Hyderabad Metro opened to the public in 2017.  This 72-km metro rail, completed in December 2017, had three elevated standard gauge track corridors, 64 stops, and three depots.

The Red Line of the Hyderabad Metro Rail travels from northwest to southeast. The red line is 29 km long and has 27 metro stations between Miyapur and LB Nagar. The Hyderabad Metro's Red Line has three carriages that travel at a top speed of 80 kilometres per hour and stop every 4-10 minutes.

HYD Metro Map: Green Line

The Green Line of the Hyderabad Metro Rail has been fully operational since 2019. The green line was planned in two phases: a 9.66 km route from JBS to MGBS and a 5.36 km route from MGBS to Falaknuma. Hyderabad's Green Line system consists of nine stops from all active stations of the Hyderabad metro.

Metro Train Timings In Hyderabad

• The Hyderabad metro timings are from 6 AM to 11:15 PM. 

• The Hyderabad metro timings differ during peak hours. You can catch a metro every 7 minutes, whereas, in non-peak hours, you can board a metro every 8 minutes. 

• The red line takes around 52 minutes to cover a 28 km route.

• The blue line takes 53 minutes to cover a 26.8km route. 

• The green line takes only 16 minutes to cover the 7.7km route. 

Hyderabad Metro Fare

The Hyderabad metro fare is based on the distance travelled by the user and the type of ticket bought. 

• People opt for tokens when they wish to travel on single journeys, whereas they use smartcards for multiple journeys. Both are available for INR 20, with a 10% seasonal savings. One can recharge the metro smart card for a multiple of 50. 

• The minimum Hyderabad metro fare for the Red, Blue, and Green lines is INR 10.

• The maximum Hyderabad metro fare for the Red and Blue Lines is Rs 60, and for the Green Line, it is Rs 35. 

• The cost to travel on the Red Line from Miyapur to JNTU College, ES Hospital Metro Station, and L.B. Nagar is Rs 15, Rs 40, and Rs 60, respectively.  

• People starting their journey from Nagole on the Blue Line will have a fare of Rs 15 to reach Stadium Metro Station, Ameerpet Metro Station for Rs 45, and Raidurg Metro Station for Rs 60. 

• You can commute to Secunderabad West for INR 10 and RTC Cross Roads Metro Station for INR 15.
