Taking one step ahead in establishing transparency in Kerala's real estate sector, the Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (K-RERA) on May 17, launched the revamped version of the K-RERA website with the motive to provide prospective home buyers with accurate and reliable information on real-estate projects in Kerala. The revamped website can be accessed here: https://rera.kerala.gov.in.
Inaugurated by Mr. M.B. Rajesh, Minister for Local Self-Governments, and designed by the Kerala based start-up Xocortx, the new version of the website features GIS-enabled mapping and the property exploration tools.
Benefits of New Features Under The Revamped K-RERA
The advanced features will benefit prospective buyers in locating villas, apartments, and commercial spaces, as well as the neighborhood's liveability aspects including schools and hospitals.
With one-click, prospective buyers can monitor the project's progress as well as plans, brochures, permits, photos indicating current progress etc. According to K-RERA, buyers can track the physical and financial progress of the projects and the record of the property developer.
The new version of the K-RERA is beneficial for the real estate builders and developers of Kerala as it opens up a commercial opportunity for developers by encouraging transparency, accountability, and credibility.
“Only less than 10% total dwelling units are apartments in Kerala while in other states like Maharashtra the percentage is higher. There has to be reforms in the Rent Control Act so as to give an impetus to this sector,” said P H Kurien, K-RERA chairman.
Notably, the revised technology-driven version of the K-RERA website establishes transparency, easy access to data, thereby making the buying experience seamless and less stressful for prospective home buyers.
