Jaipur, famously known as the Pink City, is a beautiful blend of heritage, culture, and modernity. In its quest to keep pace with rapid urbanisation, Jaipur has successfully embraced modern modes of transportation with the introduction of the Jaipur Metro. It serves citizens as a time-saving alternative to traditional modes of transport.

Jaipur Metro

The Jaipur Metro is designed into two phases- the first phase is already functioning and is being considered for further expansion. The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation is implementing the project with support from various government bodies.

Like other metros in India, the Jaipur Metro uses 1435 mm tracks and 25 kV AC via the overhead catenary. The Jaipur Rail Project is being constructed in phases, i.e., east-west and north-south corridors.

  • The East-West corridor is the first phase of the project. It runs from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar.

  • The second phase will run from Sitapura Industrial Area to Ambabari.
