The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) launched its housing scheme along with the online portal on January 18, 2019. Approximately 1,250 flats launched in the first phase were all one BHK apartments. This year’s scheme offered flats which were returned by flat buyers under the 2017 scheme.
They are in Narela, Ramnagar Colony and Seeraspur. DDA this time is reportedly launching housing scheme in phases. “This year it is on first come first served basis. There will be no draws conducted by the DDA. Once the online portal is active, applicants can directly book the flat by making an initial payment.” - as quoted by DDA Housing Commissioner Rajiv Gandhi.
The apartments are assured to have improved this time regarding size, construction, quality, and facilities.
What to expect in the new DDA housing project?
- The size of one bedroom units has been increased to 430 square foot (sq ft) from 323 sq ft.
- The media reports are claiming that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has constructed flats in compliance with the latest earthquake-resistant technology that can withstand earthquakes measuring 8.5 on the Richter scale.
- The new DDA project also consists of local sewage treatment plants, RO-treated water for drinking and multilevel underground parking.
- The complexes have high-rise housing in compliance with the National Building Code, 2016. The construction norms are also considered strictly by the code including minimum room size, dimension, building column spots, parking rules, the height of buildings and corresponding to floor area ratio, and evacuation measures at the time of emergency.
What are the standard steps to apply for the DDA Housing Scheme?
Step 1
The applicant should be at least 18 years old, and only one application is allowed to one applicant. He/she should not own any residential flat or plot in the urban areas of Delhi, New Delhi or Delhi Cantonment. The condition applies to the applicant's name or in the name of spouse or his/her dependent relations, including unmarried children. It is allowed for a husband and wife to apply separately for the scheme. However, if both get selected in the draw, only one can retain the flat.
Step 2
Go to www.ddaonlineflt.in. Check out the locations and other details of the DDA flats offered and select locality, sector, pocket to reserve your flat.
Step 3
Check the number of vacant flats in the block and select the flat according to the availability. You will find the flats coded in four colors - Green, Red, Yellow, Black. Green implies available, red means sold, yellow means hold and black means reserved.
Step 4
Once you have selected the flat you want to buy, you will be given 30 minutes to complete the transaction. Confirm your details. You will be prompted with the option if you are already registered, and if yes, you can log in with your credentials. If not, create a new user login. Fill in all the details and submit the information.
Step 5
As the final step, you will be redirected to the payment gateway to pay the registration amount. After the registration process, balance amount should be deposited within 90 days from the date of issue of the demand letter. If you fail to meet the condition, registration amount shall be forfeited.
