Good news for all the Goa travellers! The new Goa airport's name is Manohar International Airport, also known as Mopa International Airport or North Goa Airport is located in the Indian district of North Goa, near Mopa, Pernem Taluka. 

The new Goa international airport is 552 ft above sea level and is positioned to serve the region efficiently. The meticulous coordinates of this new Goa international airport are 15.7302 N latitude and 73.863 E longitude. IATA: GOX and ICAO: VOGA are the operating airport codes. Furthermore, the Goa new airport serves both domestic and international flights.

Phases

The Mopa airport in Goa was inaugurated on December 11, 2022, and covers an area of 2133 acres. An estimated Rs 2870 crore was spent on the first phase of the north Goa airport. The second phase of the airport will start once 80% of the passenger capacity target for the first phase is achieved. It will further expand in the third phase to accommodate 9.4 million passengers. Once the fourth phase is completed, the airport will have a capacity of more than 13 million passengers annually.


Architecture

The Mopa airport, Goa, aims to provide a seamless travel experience to each passenger. The architectural planning for the Manohar International Airport was given to the Nordic Office of Architecture, while the private construction company was tasked with carrying out the civil construction.

The new Goa international airport is located 35 km from Panjim, the state's capital, in the northern region of Goa. The airport will directly connect to NH 166S and provide access to and from the surrounding areas.
